Embrace the next transformation in sustainability: Henkel shares innovative solution for fossil-free lamination adhesives at iT’s Tissue 2022

For the 2022 edition of iT’s Tissue, held in Lucca, from June 6th to 10th, Henkel is proud to once again be partner and sponsor to this essential industry event. As well as bringing together the breadth of the industry to share the latest technologies and innovations, this is a unique opportunity to explore the emerging consumer trends that will define our future. And perhaps few trends are as urgent in 2022 as the need for sustainable processes and operations.

Indeed, this trend is only increasing as consumer awareness of climate change grows and accelerates demand for sustainable products. Today, 61% of consumers are worried about climate change, but they also believe they can make a difference with their buying decisions. 67% of consumers have sought to make a positive impact on the environment through everyday actions. Little wonder that sustainability continues to be one of the greatest drivers for innovation.

At iT’s Tissue, many of us will be looking at what this means for the tissue industry and will recognize this as an opportunity to do our part in driving positive change. Moreover, in an industry defined by tough competition and price pressure, sustainable solutions provide an opportunity to add value and differentiate products. Henkel is excited to be enabling these opportunities – and to be helping manufacturers embrace their sustainable future.

At iT’s Tissue, Henkel will be presenting a new product that will help manufacturers reduce their carbon footprint, while offering outstanding safety and cost-efficiency – Aquence LAM E9500 ECO. The new sustainability-grade adhesive for lamination is the latest innovation in a comprehensive range of Aquence water-based adhesives and additives dedicated for tissue and towel production.

Aquence LAM E9500 ECO represents a new level of sustainability-focused grade for the tissue and towel market. Unlike purely fossil-based polymer adhesives, it is made with bio-based raw materials and provides customers with a natural and sustainable solution that helps to bring down their Scope 3 CO2 emissions. As a preservative- and plasticizer-free adhesive, the new product also helps manufacturers ensure a safer working environment.

Aquence LAM E9500 also demonstrates that taking more sustainable paths need not be cost-prohibitive: It can be diluted at very high ratios, ensuring low cost in use.

“Thanks to breakthrough innovations in technologies and processes such as Aquence LAM E9500 ECO, there has never been a better time to rise to the sustainability challenge,” concludes Eilyn Meneses Villabona, Market Strategy Manager Personal Hygiene Adhesives EIMEA at Henkel.

At iT's Tissue 2022, Henkel will be a guest at the Open House of A.Celli, Futura, Gambini, OMET, Körber and PCMC to present the latest technological innovations enabling sustainable processes, operational efficiency and offering enhanced consumer experiences.
